Hello to everyone out there. You are about to read one of the loveliest stories we have had the honor of sharing.
Meet Hermica and Seyi- newly, Mr. and Mrs. Alalade. We ask our couples to define one another in 3 words.
If Hermica had to be defined in 3 words they would be: LOYAL. ADVENTUROUS. SELFLESS.
If Seyi had to be defined in 3 words they would be: BREATHTAKING. DEDICATED. INTELLIGENT.
There are two things Mrs. Hermica Alalade always tells people when she shares her story of meeting her husband Seyi and how he came into her life:
“The first is, “Words have power” and the second, “I spoke him into my life that night”. I met Seyi June 17, 2011, a Friday night. Two of my girlfriends had been trying their best convince me to come out after work and I finally gave in. Anyone who knows me well enough is aware that clumsiness is one of my worst traits. This night, while heading to a social function at one of Nashville’s best roof top bars, I spilled cold water all over my sundress. Despite my pure frustration, I tried to make the best of the night. I creatively attempted to dry my “backside” with the vents from my car on 90 degrees.
By the time I finally arrived, the event was coming to an end, but I suggested that we “walk around and see if we notice anyone we have not met before.” Within 3 minutes of me speaking those words, I passed Seyi going the opposite way through the doorway. My life changed at that very moment, forever. (to be a bit more dramatic you can say: At that very moment, my life had changed – forever).
When our eyes met, I honestly felt like I was in a movie. Everything slowed down, the background faded and we were the only two in the room – queue romantic music. We engaged in the usual small talk and exchanged information. The very next day, he invited me to lunch. That was the first of many on our list of unforgettable memories, which includes what we refer to as, “The Best Date Ever” – that occurred within the first two weeks of us meeting.”
