Emmie & Ryan’s December wedding at Barn in the Bend was pure holiday magic from beginning to end. Every detail glowed with warmth, laughter, and love—from heirloom tributes sewn into the bride’s garter to the joyful surprise of Mrs. Claus handing out snacks on the dance floor. It was festive, heartfelt, and oh-so-memorable.
💫 The Love Story
Emmie and Ryan met in true modern fashion—on Bumble! Their first Christmas together was spent at Opryland with both their families, so it was only fitting that Ryan proposed on New Year’s Eve at Opryland, making it full circle when they said “I do” four years later, surrounded by loved ones.
🎄 Ceremony & Details
The ceremony was held at Barn in the Bend’s hilltop chapel, with an aisle flanked by lush winter greenery and a garland-draped arbor framing the stunning Tennessee hills. The moment the doors opened for Emmie’s walk down the aisle was unforgettable, topped only by the surprise snow thrown during the couple’s first kiss as husband and wife.
Inside the reception barn, every table sparkled with elegant place settings, gold chargers, and Christmas ornaments as favors. Pine garlands and candlelight added a cozy glow, while a vintage car awaited the couple’s send-off kiss under a canopy of gold streamer wands.
🎁 Heartfelt Touches
Emmie’s garter was lovingly handmade by her mom’s best friend using pearls from her mother’s bouquet, buttons from her grandmother, and a blue “E” from a cherished late friend’s dish towel. These meaningful keepsakes were tucked near her heart.
The couple also exchanged private vows, creating an intimate memory before the big ceremony. One of Emmie’s most treasured moments? Her first look with her dad—a moment full of emotion and tears she’ll never forget.
🍽️ Food, Fun, and Festivities
From a menu of Southern comfort favorites like poppyseed chicken casserole, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and cinnamon apples—courtesy of the always incredible It’s A Pear Catering—to a gorgeous white cake and Crazi Cakes’ signature tiramisu shooters, guests were treated to a feast as warm as the love in the room.
DJ Travis Olmstead (DJ Trav) kept the led dance floor moving all night long, added a romantic pop with sparkler fountains, and the Frozen Exposure photobooth was full of holiday props and fun memories.
Mrs. Claus herself even made an appearance, handing out treats like it was straight from the North Pole. 🎅🏻💕

Emmie & Ryan prioritized capturing not just portraits, but memories with their guests. From a fun run to each table for guest snapshots to dancing, laughing, and soaking it all in, their wedding day was full of joy and intentional presence.
They told us: “Literally the best! Y’all made the day so much more fun and reminded us to slow down and enjoy everything. I couldn’t have asked for a better team!!!”
Emmie’s advice to other couples? “Take a moment during the ceremony to look out at everyone who traveled near and far to be there and just rest in the gratitude for a moment.”
