We last left off on Molly and Randel’s wedding day story here- with Molly ready to walk along the river side towards Randel waiting to see her for the first time on their wedding day, surrounded only by a very small, private, group of friends and family. As their officiants invite everyone to stand, Randel smiles that smile only a man about to marry the girl of his dreams can have. OH! This is the FIRST time you guys are seeing Randel. LOVING HIS YELLOW PANTS, YELLOW BOW TIE, AND WHITE BELT?! Bobby and I felt like we had hit the jackpot in having the stinking coolest couple in the universe to photograph. We couldn’t stop loving on all of the snazzy details with this amazing, special day. We truly felt special to have been chosen to share these moments.
Randel smiles so big as he sees Molly and Mrs. Resa straightens her dress for her.
Their wedding dates are EMBROIDERED ON THEIR SHOES!
Randel’s vows RHYMED. RHYMED! This is a wedding film we truly can’t wait to share!
Yes. There is a story behind this image. At this point, everyone had hiked to the ceremony site through a little trail. After Randel’s nifty rhyming vows, Molly looked up for her wedding vows, but…..? And so everyone stopped and looked at each other and Molly smiled and said “where are my vows?” I think the summer heat must’ve baked us all, because, smiling, someone in the group said merrily “I dunno!” and silence ensued for a few awkward, beautiful moments- note Randel’s concerned expression, Molly said with her gorgeous Princess Diana’ness, “Well, that’s not going to work.” And so someone ran off and got the vows and they were worth it.
MR. AND MRS. JOHNSTON!
And then a big bear hug. Don’t you just love happy endings? =)
And then my favorite part of the ceremony happened. Well, it was a close tie between Randel’s rhyming vows and Molly’s “that’s not going to work” line. We exited the ceremony site and had this super personal, very special communion where everyone stood in a circle together and prayed. The neatest part, and I’m not sure this was planned, but the Pastor noticed and talked to everyone about it, is that we were standing beneath this tree with these incredible thorns that was so appropriate for reflecting on our prayer and communion.
Here are some sweet moments following the ceremony where we got to follow the newlyweds through the woods and along the river and take some portraits, just minutes after the ceremony!
Congrats, Molly and Randel! Up next, the Westbury House, Columbia, Tennessee dessert reception with a seriously amazing wedding cake and a palette wall built especially for Molly’s reception by her Dad, Hollis.
