A while back, 28 months ago, according to Instagram, Bobby and I met with a super cute couple looking for wedding photographers. I notice now that I was wearing my gold sequin top, which probably scored me major points with the gold-loving bride-to-be, Bailee.
Frozen Exposure was a team of two. Then we added our mellow, video extraordinaire Matt Powell to our crew. Then, you guys begin talking about us- in a great way. And there became SO much we wanted to share with you guys, but how could we consult, photograph, edit, package, deliver, be timely, AND do the justice of writing the great, beautiful words that go along with our photographs and video of your big day?
Should we further limit the number of couples we book a year….or should we expand our team and bring others in to help us with some of the work such as blogging and organizing, etc.? And if we did that, WHO would be bring in?
In the image above, we never knew that we were not only meeting with a sweetheart that would make October 19, 2013 such a special and memorable day for us, but that we were also just little people in a much bigger plan- I’m SO excited to see where this goes. But first, let’s talk about how it started.
There was meeting for coffee. Then there was the engagement session. *heart melting*
Then came cute little text messages from Bailee and Jimmy saying “Hmmm, we booked you guys a year and a half before our wedding, and our engagement session was 3 months ago and we feel like we are forgetting you! Let’s have dinner!” YES! And then…”Tanya and Bobby! Congrats on your pregnancy!! WAIT! It’s not due on our wedding date is it?! Oh, good! Are you having a gender reveal party?!” Well of course! And guess what?! Here they are at our home with little Peyton and finding out that we were going to have a baby Paris!
And then came baby Paris. Along with some dear hospital visitors. *fanning face, okay, this is getting ridiculous, I’m boo-hoo’ing like a madwoman over here!*
Do I have to keep going? This is killing me. Then Peyton turned 2. And they were there. And at all of the other babies (Jaz, Piper, Peyton and Paris) birthdays. Then again, when my sister-in-law was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer- they brought a gift for her that encouraged her.
AND THEN THE BIG DAY.
Then we submitted 8 images with different brides for The Pink Bride magazine cover contest. They only picked 3 total brides out of hundreds of brides from TONS of photographers submissions. Guess who one of the 3 was?
I’m gonna say this once and with much love but truth: Pink Bride, ya screwed up. *please don’t pull our contract* Bailee, you won the hearts of many, including our bride who is getting married TOMORROW, Brittany, all the way in Mississippi who went so far and to make a graphic promoting you, share it to her instagram and change the link in her bio to the link where people could vote for you! And please note: we were super exciting and in love with The Pink Bride for giving Bailee’s wedding a full page in the magazine!
Then we had Bailee join us at The Pink Bride bridal show to work our booth and meet new brides. We also had Shelly and Kaley in their wedding dresses. How will we ever manage a booth without these guys again!? They were amazing!
So all of this time, we’ve really gotten to know Mrs. Bailee. We’ve seen her brilliance and charm. We’ve seen her laugh. We’ve seen her cry. We’ve seen her heart. Her flair and organization. We’ve seen her home office (wow). Most of all, we’ve majorly seen how Bailee belongs on the Frozen Exposure team. Please welcome Bailee as she joins us and helps us organize, plan style shoots, blog, and pretty much anything else she can handle. Looking at all of these images and the place we have in each other’s lives, it’s just all so obvious and perfect. Bailee once said she wears many hats. Those hats in our lives would be labeled “Aunt Bailee” “Bride” “Cover Contest Bride” “Girl Who Loves The Color Mustard” and…. simply Bailee. =) (Intro: Bailee is launching a great project that she will be sharing soon!!!).
