The Cordelle : Darian & Rudd

Darian & Rudd’s wedding at The Cordelle was this really cool combination of romantic and fun. Looking back over November weddings and thinking of all of our November couples celebrating wedding anniversaries just took my heart right back here to November 03, 2019. What stands out so much to me was that Darian is a fellow Swiftie and Taylor Swift has just released “Lover” three months earlier. THIS was the first wedding we captured where “Lover” was the bride and groom’s first dance song and my heart actually melted. Check the names of their signature drinks below!!! His drik was “End Game” and hers was “Wildest Dreams!”

I also will never forget the INTERACTION Darian, Rudd, and their whole crew gave us- all the things that add to the magic with smiling at us, pointing at us, it means so much to truly connect with our couples and THIS is why. I’ll pause on gushing over these cuties and share some photos and words from the bride and groom below. Darian and Rudd, I hope you guys had the best 4 year anniversary celebration and thank you again for the honor of having us capture for you.

HOW THEY MET

We met in a super romantic way- tinder! We both work in professions where there’s not many opportunities to meet new people. We had our first date at Barista Parlor and the rest is history!

THE PROPOSAL

We went to Bakersfield downtown, one of our first dates a few years ago. Afterwards, we walked to the pedestrian bridge where he surprised me with the proposal and a photographer to take the photos!

FAVE WEDDING MOMENTS

My favorite moment from the wedding was walking down the aisle to meet Rudd at the altar. It was such a special, once in a lifetime moment. Rudd’s favorite moment is me stepping inside the door before walking down the aisle, he even teared up a bit!

HOW LONG DID YOU DATE?

Three years!

OVERALL WEDDING EXPERIENCE

I could not have dreamed of a better wedding. We had so much fun surrounded by all of our friends and family.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES

Use a checklist! We didn’t have a full time wedding planner so using a detailed check list kept us on track.

ANY PHOTOGRAPHY RELATED ADVICE?

Definitely do an engagement session! It’s great to get to know your photographer ahead of the wedding and get used to having the attention on just the two of you.

HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH FROZEN EXPOSURE?

We had a great time! We loved working with you and the whole experience felt very personal. You’re such positive, kind people- we’ll definitely be keeping in touch for years to come!

ADVICE ON HOW TO PREPARE FOR WEDDING PHOTOS?

Have fun! This should be one of the most exciting days for a couple, every moment should be enjoyable!

TELL US ABOUT THE DRESS!

I got my dress at White Lace and Promises in Knoxville. I tried on quite a few before trying this one on a second time and just knowing. What really made me fall in love with it was having it fitted and dressed with the veil.

FIRST LOOK BEFORE THE CEREMONY?

Nope! We wanted our first look to be down the aisle. We felt it meant more to see each other during the ceremony. It was much more emotional for us this way as opposed to doing a first look.

ANY FAVE SHOPS OR RECS?

Rudd and I are most proud of our creativity we incorporated during our reception. All of our wedding signs, flower arrangements, and photo displays were handmade by us! We also spent a lot of time on Etsy buying handcrafted items to display.

BIGGEST WEDDING FEAR?

I was most anxious about tripping or falling! I wasn’t even a little nervous about my actual marriage, I’m just such a klutz. Proud to say, neither Rudd nor I fell or injured ourselves!

BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Make all your decisions together. Wedding planning can be so stressful and taxing. At the end of the day, you should be excited for your lives together, not just your wedding day.

TELL US ABOUT THE FOOD

For appetizers, we had meatballs and bruschetta. Our dinner was cornbread crusted chicken, hickory molasses pork loin, roasted vegetables, macaroni and cheese, salad and rolls. We also had a great vanilla and strawberry cream cheese frosted cake!

WHAT WAS THE FIRST SONG YOU DANCED TO AS HUSBAND AND WIFE?

Lover by Taylor Swift.

LOVE,
Tanya M.
