Nashville Parthenon Wedding : Kynnee & Robert

You guys are in for such a treat today. We are so excited to share Kynnee and Robert’s December wedding at The Nashville Parthenon in Tennessee.

K&R have such an inspiring love story and I couldn’t help but dig a little deeper because I LOVE connecting the dots and finding the meaning in things.

So first, let’s address the fact that featured in many of their portraits, and standing 42 feet tall overlooking the entire wedding day unfold, was Athena, the Goodess of War. Did you know that Athena’s motto is “QUOD OBSTAT VIAE FIT VIA” which translates to: “When the obstacle becomes the way”.

When the obstacle becomes the way…reflecting on the incredible toasts given during the wedding, and specifically what the Maid of Honor, Brittany, said during her speech about witnessing an incredible moment in Robert’s life: “I literally saw this man one night on his knees on Buck Island crying out to God, with a face full of tears, asking for healing; praying for his soulmate. He was praying for Kynnee.” When the obstacle becomes the way… how cool is it that God answered Rob’s prayer and how neat to have a 42 foot tall reminder that our obstacles can become the way.

I’m forever a Larson Floral Co fan. Pay special attention to how the gorgeous florals soften the room and add pops of color to that incredible Homestyle Bakery wedding cake (and believe me, also, when I say if you haven’t made the drive to M’boro Pike for some Homestyle Bakery, you are not living life as you should be. I would like to take credit for discovering that charming bakery during my college days and it being a little known local treasure, but I learned that kind of awesome is bound to be loved by more than just me). And the fact that I never made it over to snag a piece of cake just means that there is now reason for me to make the excuse to run to their bakery next week for Christmas goodies. :

HOW THEY MET

THE PROPOSAL

Robert asked Kynnee to marry him in St Maarten at the Orient Beach.

FAVE WEDDING MOMENTS

Seeing him and locking eyes , our personalized vow exchange , The unity ceremony with the kids, our first dance, (it was like no one else existed in that moment), and the kids speeches.

HOW LONG DID YOU DATE?

Four years!

OVERALL WEDDING EXPERIENCE

Witnessing everything come together was beautiful. It was a shared vision. The day of was a bit chaotic because of delays and things that were supposed to happen that didn’t but overall it was absolutely beautiful . It went quickly!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES

The day of is never going to be perfect no matter how much you plan. Focus on one another and not the small details the day of. If something is wrong, tell someone that can do something about it. Otherwise it’s just complaining…

ANY PHOTOGRAPHY RELATED ADVICE?

Think about the really important shots you want to get. You may get picture fatigue so keep a short list of must haves. Have a contingency plan for outdoor photos.

HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH FROZEN EXPOSURE?

Seamless, and fun. I love that you all gave lots of direction and suggestions and captured fun moments.

ADVICE ON HOW TO PREPARE FOR WEDDING PHOTOS?

Have a plan! Know in advance how to ensure you won’t see your spouse etc

TELL US ABOUT THE DRESS!

Couture Bridal of Maryland. I decided on a preferred style and silhouette then tried on several dresses. I was down to 2 dresses, but only one made me cry both times that I tried it on. There was no question that was the one. Couture Bridal had my veil and dress. Saks had my complete reception outfit and shoes.

FIRST LOOK BEFORE THE CEREMONY?

No, we did not see one another beforehand. I liked it! We have spent the last four years practically joined at the hip, it was nice to have an element of surprise and mystery. It built up excitement. We were missing each other all day.

BIGGEST WEDDING FEAR?

Not nervous at all. This is my person. My purpose partner. There was no doubt or question. I was more than ready and eager to begin the ceremony.

BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Get a planner!!!
