I got to experience an exciting “first” with Savannah and Josh’s dreamy summer wedding in hues of blues and lilac. The bride and groom actually walked into the ceremony TOGETHER. Okay, HOW APPROPRIATE IS THIS- especially when there has been a sweet first look beforehand? Because if first looks are the newer tradition- wouldn’t you walk into your ceremony together and let that symbolize going before everyone to make your vows TOGETHER? I’m not saying this is how everyone should do it at all- I’m just saying that I think it’s pretty wonderful- and mega thanks to our Matt for capturing these for us, because Bobby and I couldn’t walk down the aisles shooting, right?! ENJOY!
In the image below, I can’t tell you how my hands itched for a camera. Our 3 year old, Piper, was the flower girl and she was supposed to walk in after us, but ran ahead of us. The bride, being laid back and awesome, rolled with the fact that Piper was going out of sequence by walking ahead of us. Piper LOVES being social- she loves laughing and clapping and cheering with crowds. So she darted right in front of us and ran inside. As I’m watching her tiny body run ahead of us, I am relieved to know that she’s enjoying the experience of having everyone smile at her. . .then she stops, and freezes. Bobby and I stop and wait, she spins around when an experience that melted our hearts, her eyes wide with misunderstanding and tears, her lower lip in a sad frown. What could Bobby do but scoop her up and take her with us? <3
Here comes the gorgeous Jaz and handsome baby Kellan…. guess who’s next….
