Are you ready to see Kathryn and Brandon’s ceremony? Let’s revisit the heart-swooning image where their blog journey began, shall we?
Eeeeeek! I squeal like a little girl each time I see it! Everything about this image is so perfect.
Now, I know I’ve kept you all waiting this week, and I promise I will show the ceremony photos, but I want to take one last opportunity to show Kathryn + Brandon before they see each other for the very first time on their wedding day.
Enjoy the portraits of K + B…
Caprice + The Enchanted Florist team created the amazing flowers for K + B’s wedding. We are in love with everything she creates. Caprice, you are amazing!
The wedding programs also doubled as fans for the September day.
When I first saw this photo, my mind drifted to a future moment when K + B would pull out a box filled with all of their wedding memories. A dried boutinerre, the monogrammed bow from Kathyrn’s bouquet, a starfish hair clip, their wedding vows, and this wedding program-fan. Each important token neatly tucked away so they can look back and reminisce on the day they started the next chapter.
Kathryn did something super special that I want to point out here. Front Porch Farms is known for its gorgeous countryside. Kathryn used a rustic, country venue and added her own special touches and elements to make the venue her very own. We notice, Kathryn. Way to go! Her style is timeless and classy.
Shortly before the ceremony, while giddy Kathryn was waiting upstairs and watching her guests arrive from her bridal suite window, her sorority sisters peeked in for a quick hello.
Notice how each gal wore a shade of blue for their fellow sister and bride.
The wedding party is in their places, and it’s time for the baby angel-fairies to leave their trail of flower petals…
In Part II of the Mulcahy’s wedding journey, I mentioned that one thing Kathryn truly cherished on her wedding day was getting ready with her girls.
The second thing she cherished, and one of the most magical moments of the entire day (if not the most magical of all), was seeing Brandon for the very first time.
As a bride walks down the aisle, a mix of emotions can occur, and honestly it’s different for each bride. No matter how a bride is feeling in those moments (nervous, afraid she’ll trip, anxious, excited), when she sees her man for the first time and he sees her, it makes all those feelings disappear, and all you’re left with is love. It’s a once in a lifetime moment that you remember forever.
Kathyrn’s dad also served as the officiant for the special day.
Fun fact about our marine: Brandon is Irish. As part of their day, K + B incorporated some Irish traditions, like tying the knot. The phrase, “tying the knot” comes from an old Irish tradition and symbolizes the bond of marriage, similar to the exchanging of rings.
K + B put their hands together, and a cord is wound around their hands; this is a symbol of their commitment to each other.
Immediately after the ceremony, K + B shared a few special moments together to let it all sink in.
Each time I see this photo, I can’t help but think, “Share a coke with Brandon.”
I know I already threw out the word magical when talking about their love story, but it seems that magical is the best way to describe this couple.
Do you see the way they are looking at one another in the photo below? It’s as if they are both letting out a happy sigh as a Mr. and Mrs. It’s a look that says, “Man oh man, I just, truly love you.” Magic. Magical.
Flashback to Kathryn and Brandon’s engagement session. These two photos, side by side, tell us a lot about K + B’s wedding journey. This strong marine found his ballerina princess and soul mate. All for this moment.
We are so happy for these special newlyweds. Our last stop on K + B’s wedding journey will be the reception. The knot has been tied and everyone is ready to boogie. Check back tomorrow!
